1.)Who created eRate and why?
A guy named Etienne Pennekan from Cape Town created eRate because of bad
service that he has received from companies all over South Africa. He wished that
there was a place where he could see where he must go for good service and who he had
to stay away from. So he created eRate and it not only acts as a Information/Business
directory but users can now see what other people are saying about the companies
we all use.
2.)What if I did not create my company's profile and wish to alter it, change
it or delete it?

send us an email and explain to us what you need.
3.)How do I change my Password?
You will have to log in first, and then simply click the Edit Profile link
on top of the page. From there, after you entered a password in the password box
and click on the Update button the new password will be saved.
4.)What if my email address changes?
You will have to send an email with your current and new email address with
your password to contact@erate.co.za. Please make sure you are sending the email
from your current email address.
5.)What company gets placed first from top when I do a search?
There is a mathematical formula that is used for this. So if you have alot
of good rates you will be on top. A company with 90 out of 100 Good rates will be
put above a company with 9 out of 10 Good rates.
6.)Can I make an anonymous rate?
Yes, first you will have to be logged in. Then on the Rate Page you will
see a check box that you must tick to be anonymous with your rate.
7.)Why must I add that security code thing almost everywhere?
That security code thing is called CAPTCHA. It is there to make sure that
you really are a person and not a computer program who might flood our database
with SPAM and BOTS.
8.)What is the maximum size of my logo/picture that I can upload?

10.)If I have a profile all ready and want to reply to the comments from the
people who rated my company, can I do this?
Yes, you will have to log in first. Go find your company and there you
will see that you can reply to the comments, you cant rate yourself though. Else
if you have selected the Yes option on the Notify Me list box, an email will be
send to you every time a Rater comment on your profile. The email will contain all
the contact details of that Rater unless that Rater ticked the Anonymous check box
before he/she submit the comment to your profile.
